With all the excitement surrounding the upcoming new flagship gaming laptops, Asus has been busy updating its gaming desktop lineup to keep pace.
But Asus has also added some exciting features, such as a full-HD display, an SSD that can store up to 128GB of RAM, and a new GeForce RTX 200M OC for the gaming desktop.
With these features, we’re hoping to get a full rundown of the new laptop, and take a look at what it’s really like to own one.
SpecificationsAesthetically, the Asus GeForce GTX 2080 is a handsome, but not particularly expensive gaming laptop.
Its matte aluminum chassis is made of carbon fiber and features a pair of dual-fan, 12mm thick fans, which are rated at 140RPM and 165W.
The chassis itself is composed of a full magnesium alloy, with brushed-aluminum accents, and is finished off with a matte aluminum back, a single red LED strip, and an optional 3D stripe.
The base of the laptop features a large black fingerprint reader and the power button, while the bottom has a 5.25-inch 1920×1080 IPS display.
There’s no shortage of ports, as the laptop includes two USB 3.0, a DisplayPort 1.2, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and dual USB 3 ports.
Asus has included a pair 3.5mm audio jacks on the right side of the chassis, which you can attach a headset jack for audio out.
Asus says that it’s capable of delivering over 50W of power to the laptop, but that you’ll need to power the system with at least three to four hours of battery life to achieve that.
The GeForce GTX 200M has a full HD display, with a pixel density of 1,280×768 pixels, but the resolution isn’t exactly high, and the laptop doesn’t offer much in the way of connectivity options.
Asus claims the GTX 200 will offer 10 hours of online gaming and 6 hours of video streaming.
That means the laptop should provide over 5 hours of power when fully charged.
A few other notable features include an 8GB RAM configuration, a dual-core Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, a 256GB SSD, a 4GB RAM option, an HDMI 2.0 port, a USB Type-C port, an 8-megapixel front camera, a 5-megabit Ethernet jack, a full 13-megabyte storage option, a fingerprint reader, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
The only other noteworthy hardware features on the Asus GTX 2090 are a 13-inch backlit display, a 1080p IPS display, and Nvidia’s GeForce GTX GPU.
The laptop has a 2,560×1,440 resolution, and Asus claims it’s the first gaming laptop to support HDR technology.
The GTX 2060 is a much smaller version of the Asus Radeon RX 480.
The laptop comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports and a pair USB 3 connectors, which makes it ideal for connecting peripherals to external devices, such to external displays or even external keyboards.
Asus also includes a pair audio jack ports on the left side of its chassis, where you can connect a headset.
The right side features a microSD slot and a 3-megacomposite USB 3 port, with the latter having a 1TB capacity.
